Sonic the Hedgehog

The Big Con is a complete story written by Lew Stringer, drawn by Roberto Corona and lettered by Steve Potter. All of Mobius has been summoned to Robotnikcon One in the Chemical Plant Zone, where Doctor Robotnik is planning on tricking them into the Badnik Processing Plant. The Freedom Fighters arrive in time to see the plan unfold and are able to detroy the plant before Robotnik's victorious arrival.

Streets of Rage

The Only Game in Town is a 6-part story by Nigel Kitching, Peter Richardson and Tom Frame. Axel Stone's return may be short-lived, as he drives the Battle Wagon into the East River. The gang are saved by a vertical girder and climb to safety. Later, the team thank Feroccio for his help and Blaze Fielding collects her winnings from the new Mr X.

Sonic's World

Enter the Cybernik is a 3-part origin story concerning Shortfuse the Cybernik. Written by Stringer, drawn by Roberto Corona, coloured by John M Burns and lettered by Potter, this part sees Shorty resist his programming but becomes encased in the Cybernik shell. His first order is to take a group of Badniks to the Emerald Hill Zone but, on his arrival, frees all the prisoners.

Marko's Magic Football

Marko's Magic Football is a 6-part story by Stringer, Gary Andrews and Potter. This final part sees Marko cornered by Colonel Brown, but he still manages to escape from the welders. He then uses his magic football to push Brown into the green slime, a reaction causing the Toy Tower to explode. On his way home, Marko learns from Captain Smirk that the boy has saved the future, but that doesn't stop his mum from being ticked off.

Features

The Control Zone, hosted by Megadroid, introduces the free gift on the front cover and waves goodbye to two of the Sega Superstars (for good, despite saying "for now"). The droid also looks forward to new Captain Plunder and Tails stories. A competition allows Boomers to help the environment and win Ecco the Dolphin toys, games and a chance to win a games console. The Sega Charts see FIFA Soccer '95 and Jungle Book remain top of the Mega Drive and Master System charts. FIFA International Soccer also leads the Mega-CD chart, with Super Off Road moving to the head of the Game Gear pile.

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure is the first entry in the Review Zone, with Nick Protz awarding it 86%. Jenny Fromer is responsible for playing Ristar and similarly gives that 86%. The Photo Zone sees Boomers posing with their Sonic merchandise, winning them a badge in the process. This issue's Q Zone starts a Lion King special, David Gibbon helping players traverse the first five levels plus some generic tips for the whole game.

Speedlines sees Megadroid answer questions about Sonic playing rugby, age limits on games and the smelly Robotnik whiffing like rotten eggs. Published letters won a Tomy Sonic the Hedgehog Water Fun Game.
