Issue 167 is the one hundred and sixty-seventh edition of Sonic the Comic. Released on the 20th October 1999 at the price of £1.30, the issue contains one new, original story and three reprints as well as several features, a competition to win "Science FX" games and a free gift of a pack of Chewits.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Superzone is a complete story by Lew Stringer, Richard Elson and Elitta Fell. Sonic and Amy Rose investigate one of the New Zones, finding a world filled with superheroes. After Sonic saves Part-Time Powers Man from certain death, they are invited to Herocon - '99 but a fight breaks out between the heroes and supervillains. Meteor Destruction Man has arranged for them to be in one place so that a meteor can kill them all. Sonic discovers his hideout and Amy reverses the magnet, sending the meteor back into space.
Features
This issue's Graphic Zone has the theme of "Memories of Summer", with Sonic and friends enjoying the beach and waves. However, there are also other pictures, such as a homage to Star Wars and general poses from Sonic. Published pictures were awarded a Sonic the Hedgehog watch.
