Sonic the Hedgehog
The House on the Hill is a complete story by Nigel Kitching, Richard Elson and Tom Frame. On the Verdant Hill of the Emerald Hill Zone, a house has appeared from nowhere so Sonic and Tails have come to investigate. Inside, they discover the place to be ridden with ghosts, but Sonic doesn't fare too well in a battle with them. All is not as it seems and, when Tails takes up a spot of plumbling, the "ghosts" turn out to be travellers caught between dimensions.
Tails
Desert Fox is a complete story written by Lew Stringer, with art by Nigel Dobbyn and lettering by Elitta Fell. Stand-up comedian Willie Waddle is in the Scorchio Zone, stranded there by Doctor Robotnik after he took offense to one of the penguin's routines. Tails has arrived to take him to his next gig, but the pair are held up by a Sandworm. After confusing the Badnik with a lame joke, Willie arrives home to continue mocking Robotnik.
Double Sonic
Taking the Plunge is a 2-part story written by Stringer, drawn by Mick McMahon and lettered by Gordon Robson. Agent X has been sent by Doctor Robotnik to Trituna on a mission to convince Sharka Khan to invade the Beanson Coast Zone and kill Sonic. Aided by a serum that allows them to breathe out of the water, Khan sends warriors to intercept Sonic. The hero makes light work of Eelton John, Stara, Jaws Michael and Crab Sea Nesbitt but falls foul to Jimmy Whale.
Decap Attack
Mother is a complete story by Kitching and Ellie de Ville, with Professor Frank N. Stein's parents coming to Castle Frank N. Stein to stay. They reveal that they had Igor arrested for trying to carry their luggage, before Mrs Stein discovers Frank's laboratory. An argument breaks out about Frank's career choice, before his mother breaks out the rubber gloves and builds the corpse herself.
Features
The Control Zone, hosted by Megadroid, welcomes Boomers to Spring and this issue's stories, as well as reminding readers to turn their clocks forward. Speedlines offered an Enamel Badge to writers of letters asking how long STC stories would continue to be written for (58 issues, as it turned out), the imminent return of Robotnik in Robotnik Reigns Supreme and the possibility of Super Sonic dying.
