Vesper is the leader of the wasp population in the Special Zone. He is a militaristic general and is keen to cease control of The Hive from his bee rivals.
History
Vesper had led his wasp army on an attack on the Hive at least once before his first appearance in Sonic the Comic. Despite this apparent defeat, Vesper regrouped his army and attacked again. On the second occasion, the wasps caught the bees off-guard and Vesper was easily able to fight his way to the throne room. However, he did not know that Sonic the Hedgehog also present and was left embarrassed when the hedgehog stole everyone's weapons. In revenge, Vesper tried to "squash" Sonic but missed, landing flat on his face. Vesper was left even more humiliated after a direct attack from Sonic, but was led to believe he had been victorious when Sonic surrendered the Hive on behalf of the Queen Bee.
Sonic ordered Vesper to announce to the other wasps in the entrance that the bees formally surrendered. A gloating Vesper suggested he may go easy on the bees, but doubted it. His smile was removed when Sonic used his speed to create a hurricane that expelled Vesper and all other threats from the Hive. Vesper was surely left furious but was prevented from launching a new attack on the fortified Hive.
Later days
It is unlikely that Vesper escaped the catastrophe that befell the Special Zone when it was destroyed by Shadow the Hedgehog. Despite this, Vesper was apparently famous enough to be granted his own playing card in the game of Blacksnap.
Trivia
