Spiders are arachnids found on Planet Earth and Mobius. They have eight legs and are able to spin webs from their own bodily fluids. They are often characterised as being villains who usually are more concerned about ensnaring their dinner. Sonic the Hedgehog is afraid of spiders.

Spiders have appeared several times in Sonic the Comic:

• A spider attempts to eat Tekno the Canary in Small Talk but is rescued after Amy Rose defeats Skog.

• Sython is the spider guardian of the Mystic Mountain who commands their own army of smaller spiders.

• Shadow the Hedgehog harnessed a swarm of robotic spiders to distract Sonic the Hedgehog and the Chaotix Crew while he summoned the Chaos Emeralds.

• Harvestman is described as a spider, but he only has six legs, making him an insect. Don Long-Legs, however, is a spider.

• Grabbers are a Badnik version of spiders.

• The Spider-Moth is, unsurprisingly, the combination of a spider and a moth.
