In Sonic the Comic Online, "Iblis" is the name given to Super Sonic in the future by Silver the Hedgehog and his allies.
History
Due to Dexter Bagstille's machinations, Sonic the Hedgehog was once more completely consumed by the Chaos Energy within him. Dexter's "Codename: Iblis" operation failed to keep the demon under control, and he broke free. For years, Super Sonic, now known to the world as "Iblis", terrorized the entire planet and destroyed many habitats and people. One of his last known acts was to attack the Emerald Hill Zone, sensing the presence of the last remaining Chaos Emeralds, likely meaning to absorb them and attain full godhood to complete his genocidal goal. In his haste, he killed many of G.U.N.'s soldiers and even obliterated an aged Knuckles the Echidna. G.U.N. agent Silver used Dr. Gerald's time machine to visit the past and stop the "Iblis" monster ever coming to be.
Trivia
- Iblis was the name of a fiery demon encountered in the Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) video game, who is a half of the deity Solaris, the other half being the forboding and cunning Mephiles the Dark. While Mephiles embodies the wicked and vengeful will of Solaris, Iblis embodies his sheer raw power.
- In the real world, Iblis is the Islamic name for the King of Devils.
