Giraffes are mammals found on Planet Earth and Mobius. The herbivores are well known for having extremely long necks that they use to reach leaves on the tops of trees.

Giraffes in Sonic the Comic

As they are anatomically unusual creatures, giraffes have hardly ever appeared in Sonic the Comic. Only one notable example had a minor role in the original comic, whilst another appeared in Sonic the Comic Online.

• Mr Gamma was a member of a criminal gang led by Ms Alpha. In charge of navigation, the giraffe almost jeopardised their plan to steal the Floating Island's treasure when he tripped whilst escaping from the Guardian Robots.

• A meek giraffe is the current Dean of Metropolis University. He was captured and held hostage by Doctor Genius and Windy Wallis of the League of Super-Evil Villains whilst they were on the run from S.P.E.A.R.. The Dean was forced to listen to Genius' droning explanations and was eventually rescued by Tails and Amy Rose.
