Freddy was a member of The Family responsible for attempting to gain the services of Big the Cat. Along with three others, the insects bought Big a meal and tried to convince Big to work for them, but he refused. Freddy continued to get passionate about it, even after the other Family members had given up the ghost. He didn't join in the fight between Big and the grasshopper ninjas but was part of the group present when Big eventually surrendered.
Freddy's appearance seems to be somewhat of a cross between Sonic the Hedgehog and Espio the Chameleon (and an insect).
