Not to be confused with Easter Island.
Easter is a special occasion on Planet Earth and Mobius. Like Christmas, it is a religious festival that celebrates the final living days of Jesus Christ (on Earth, at least). Today, the event is often marked by the giving of chocolate eggs.
Unlike Christmas, Easter has seen little exposure within the stories of Sonic the Comic. This may be because it is the favourite holiday of Doctor Robotnik, who was created after an accidentally collision with a rotten egg. After being gifted an eggcup chair by his Troopers for Christmas, the dictator ordered them to work extra hours, stating he prefers Easter.
Issues
Certain issues of Sonic the Comic have fallen within the Easter period. To mark the occasion, the Graphic Zone is usually set aside for themed pictures:
- Issue 23 has a special cover, showing Robotnik trap Sonic the Hedgehog and two friends in an Easter Egg.
- Issue 50 sees Robotnik and the heroes either dressed as eggs or eating them. Issue 51 follows this up with a "fitness" Graphic Zone, aimed at working off the pounds following Easter.
- Issue 75 is primarily an April Fools' Day issue, but the Graphic Zone again features Easter pictures.
- Issue 127 does the same, with the title of "Chocs Away".
- Issue 152 invites Boomers to meet their idols in "Meet the STC Creators this Easter, as well as the usual Graphic Zone.
- Issue 179's Graphic Zone brings back Robotnik's egg puns with the "Easter Egg-citement" theme.
- Sonic the Easter Special is the first ever issue completely dedicated to Easter. The issue marked the debut of "Easter Bunny" Cream the Rabbit and had Robotnikat indulging in a basket of Easter eggs.
