Chill Bots are robots created by The Chiller. Prior to his reign over the Pleasant Zone, they were primarily responsible for turning the villagers into "ice lollies".
History
Continuously mocked for his dangerous inventions, The Chiller decided to exact his revenge by freezing the entire Zone. The mad scientist ensured nobody would meddle in his plan by constructing four Chill-Bots, one of them simply a prototype. Each of these would be armed with a gun that fires jets of ice (similar to an Ice Jet), contact with which could completely freeze a Mobian. The four models set to work on freezing every single resident until there was nobody left. This gave The Chiller the chance to finish his latest creation, the Chill-Machine. Shortly afterwards, The Chiller was successful in turning the entirety of the Pleasant Zone into a frozen wasteland.
Some time later, sources close to the Freedom Fighters informed the heroes of what had transpired. Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, Johnny Lightfoot and Porker Lewis arrived to investigate and quickly made contact with the prototype Chill-Bot, greeting them by smashing through the floor. Johnny assumed that the Chill-Bot had frozen everything and the robot indirectly agreed before freezing the rabbit. It then aimed at Sonic, but was quickly beaten by a Spin Attack. Later, the three remaining Chill-Bots were discovered protecting The Chiller and engaged the heroes in a firefight, managing to freeze Porker and Tails in quick succession. They even managed to withstand a Spin Attack from Sonic before sticking his feet to the ground. During a particularly boring speech by The Chiller, Sonic was able to vibrate his feet enough to break free and smashed the robots on the second time of asking.
The last remaining Chill-Bot was rebranded Mop Bot following The Chiller's change of heart and was made to clean up the melting ice.
Trivia
- Three Chill-Bots were seen shooting at the Freedom Fighters, but only two were smashed by Sonic. Despite "Mop Bot" being shown at the end, this could have been a new model built later.
